The four-day summit is expected to be the biggest one yet
With all the pavilion teasers and major projects planned, it's no surprise that Expo 2020 is projected to be BIG. Now, the site will also host another global-scale event that's promised to be just as exceptional.
For its 8th edition, the World Government Summit (WGS) will be held at Expo 2020 on November 22 until 25, 2020.
WGS is expected to have a strong line-up of high-profile officials, international organizations, and experts partake in its diverse programs exploring technology advancements and discussing real solutions to global challenges. We can look forward to more than 100,000 participants, 10,000 officials, 600 scholars, and 30 organizations from over 190 countries.
In its previous run, WGS hosted over 4,000 international figures, including Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan, Professor Klaus Schwab - Founder and CEO of the World Economic Forum, and Christine Lagarde - Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai announced on Twitter, "We will host an exceptional expo and summit, and invite the world to discuss the future."
Exchanging ideas and knowledge
Under the theme “Connecting minds, creating the future", WGS will also become a platform for the UAE to share its inspirational story as a nation of tolerance, inclusiveness, and of the future.
The summit will showcase the country's government structure as well as international government models, so as to feature an efficient global governance system.
