This is our third Christmas here [in Meadows'> and -- as with the last two years -- we have simply left our tree out by the front gate and the tree is bundled up and taken away by one of the rubbish trucks. As far as I can ascertain, not the normal blue rubbish truck, but the one which collects old boxes/newspapers/garden rubbish which services our street fairly sporadically, but still does its job.
I'm sure you can expect the same where you live. :)
