Hi,
Can anyone recommend a ortho surgeon for an extremely painful heel. I have heel spurs, saw doc ages ago, and followed advice but seems to be getting worse, waking me up at night. Seems to be in a different area to original pain, so dont know if same problem.
Doctor at City Hospital I saw has left.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Chris Whatley at City Hospital..he collegue is the foot specialist, unfortunately, I cannot remember his name but my Podiatrist highly recommended him or Chris. Ops, wrong hospital. Medcare across from Safa park is where Chris is... :) My husband was also under the care of Dr. Van de schmidt..he is great on legs lol edited by SueB on 07/02/2011 <em>edited by SueB on 07/02/2011</em>

DH had shoulder surgery with Dr Harold Vandeschmidt at the American Hospital. Phone 04 309 6925. When I was ringing around researching for an orthopedic surgeon I found that they tended to specialize in particular joints, ie knees and shoulders mostly so ask the question. A colleague had similar surgery to my husbands at Medcare and it took him months and months to recover. Dr Harold did an excellent job and was husband was better in weeks.

I've been referred to Dr Chouchuvala at Medcare hospital for a recurring ankle problem. My GP says he is a great orthopedic surgeon. 04 4079100 ext 101
