Interesting! I read last year that Eton were offering the Trinity College certificate (I remember this because my company were considering offering it as the 1st in Dubai). Having checked the Eton and Trinity website, it's definitely not an accredited course. I wonder what happened? Anyway, I wouldn't waste your money on anything other than a Cambridge or Trinity certificate. Yep... who knows, but its an "eaton awarded certificate" and wouldn't imagine that holds much value outside of the UAE, if any in the UAE at all anyway...

The CELTA and Trinity Cert TESOL are pretty much the same and both contain a practical element. They are both widely accepted. I'm not a fan of Eton but if the course is accredited by Trinity then it will be of a high standard. I'm not sure how easy it is for any newly qualified teacher with only a CELTA or Cert TESOl to get work in Dubai as most organisations I know of want you to have the qual as well as the expereince. Its not trinity (as far as I'm aware) and agree Trinity is also good.... ETA:If you have a Degree (any) and a CELTA you're able to find work at less pay per hour, but once you build up your experience you can get other jobs for better pay. <em>edited by AdviceSeeker on 13/02/2011</em>

ETA: Just went on their website and answered my own question, they don't do the CELTA they do a TESOl/TEFL Certificate which is completely different. I wouldn't bother with the Eaton one, it hasn't got a practicum, and people who I know who did the course (against my advice) couldn't find work. Do a CELTA far better not only from a prestige point of view but from what you'll actually get out of it. British Council IH CERT above are the places who provide a CELTA.
