I posted earlier about re-housing one of our puppies but does anyone have success stories of raising two dogs from the same litter and how you did it without them suffering from littermate sydrome?

Sadly, it's a common mistake people make. But honestly, it's a very very bad idea to raise two pups (whether they are littermates or not) at the same time. It's already hard work to raise/train/housebreak one and if they always have each other to play with and keep company to, why should they be listening/interested in you? But now you have them and if you don't want to go in the direction of rehoming one, then I would suggest that from now on you keep them separate - completely! With that I mean separate crates (I hope you started crate-training them?) preferably in different rooms in different areas of the house. Both of them have to accept you as THE pack leader and also have to learn that YOU are the centre of their universe. You are the best thing in the world and you must be the most interesting person/thing in the world to them. At the same time, YOU are the one who sets the rules and limits for them. You absolutely have to control every aspect of their life. That means walking them and training them completely separately! They may be allowed to play together for a certain time of the day, but I would not do that at all in the beginning and once you start, it will only be very brief. It's a lot of work and commitment, but can be done. Sandra
