I was recently prescribed Glucophage, but the pharmacist kept the prescription and it slipped my mind to ask for a copy. I'm going to the uk tomorrow and wondered if I should have the prescription with me when i come back in next week? How can I find out if it's on the Naughty List? Don't have a car at the mo so hoping I don't need to trek to to the doc tonight for this! Thanks!

What I meant to say is that if it is prescribed here in UAE there won't be a problem bringing it in. Even though some of the drugs on the restricted list CAN be prescribed here, Customs only allow them to be brought in with doctors letters, etc. if they have been prescribed and issued abroad. Hope that all makes sense.

Anyhow i'll take a look through the list, thanks all :) It should be fine, as its a medication for diabetes, its usually medications that are highly addictive such as pain killers, sleep medications etc etc...

GA just make sure you have your doctor's no. loaded on your phone (or with you), and the pharmacy no. would be a good idea too and take it in the packaging - the price in dhs will be on the packaging, so if they query you you can just call the doc/pharmacy. Have a good trip.

Ok...I was told there are medicines which can be prescribed here, but which it is illegal to bring into the country from abroad. For example certain pain killers can be prescribed here in hospital, but you can't bring them yourself from abroad. Is this incorrect? Thats correct
