Hi there

I am considering this Nursery for my DD starting in Sept and I would welcome any and all feedback please.
Also anyone that has used this Nursery, did you leave your LOs here to do FS1 or did you move them to the school of choice for this stage?

Thank you,
Curly

Hi CurlyOB, I am sure that if you addressed this to Isabelle or the lovely ladies in the office, they would give you the reply. Sadly, the reason for the deposit is probably because so many people register at so many nurseries/schools and then pull out at the last minute which leaves the nursery/school in a difficult position. I would imagine that, if you could give a terms notice, that your unused portion of the deposit would be refunded but chat to them and see. They were very 'middle of the road' with the fees when we were there and there were some that were hellishly expensive compared to them. Anyway, good luck with this and am sure you will be very happy there.

Thank you Ashes from coming back to me. This is good to hear. I did visit a few (well maybe 7 or 8) nurseries and Kids Island did come out on top for me. Its great to hear such good feedback from an actual parent so thanks for that. ONLY thing I have to say I don't like about Kids Island is their fee structure ... apart from it being expensive (but what Nursery isn't!!!!) I don't like the fact they ask for 3000 dhs as a non refundable registration fee, one thousand going against first, second and third trimesters ... no problem if DD goes for full year but what happens if God forbid DH loses his job and we have to leave (lets face it DH is in constuction in Dubai, safe for now but under no illusions) - do we lose the unused registration fee? I know this is a question for Kids Island Management so just gently venting here .... Anyway thanks again Ashes for taking the time to respond with such good feedback. Curly

Hi CurlyOB, my daughter went to Kids Island for 2 years and then moved over to Cocoon Nursery which is their FS1 unit and then only started school in FS2. She was extremely happy there and it is a wonderful environment for children. I think what makes it special is that Isabelle owns and runs the nursery and is involved in every aspect of it which makes a huge difference than when it is just a manager in the nursery. I know she puts in a lot of extra hours over and above the nursery times and you can feel it when you walk in there. I also like the FS unit because it meant that my daughter did not have to be in mainstream school at the age of 3 which I feel is far too young for formal schooling. Would have no hesitation in recommending this nursery to anyone but, as I always say to people, you have to visit a few and see where your gut tells you to go - mum's know best! Good luck.
