There are a lot new informations here. Thank you all for this. @ tallybalt. Thank you for the informations. But this is exactly the problem.... :) I only looked at around 2000 per month.. See, there is a reason why I am looking for a room for a few month, my new job will be a bit different and in the beginning i might not have too much money to affort a flat by myself.. And thats the reason why I was looking for a room in a shared apartment (only female would be perfect).. So i guess I missed the offers in dubizzle because of the max rent per month. @ tashaB: I am going to work close to mall of emirates, everything around there would be suitable. @ bluesky: Looking to move in april or may.. Thank you again for all your replies...

You're not looking very closely. There's plenty of flatshares advertised on Dubizzle. You need to set the price range filter at around 2500 AED for the western expat flat shares as those will be between 2500 to 5000 a month. As regards being illegal, technically it is illegal for different genders to live in the same place if they are not of the same family, but in practice this happens all the time. There was a crackdown on villa shares a few years back but it's largely not an issue now that the real estate market has collapsed and landlords are desperate for any tenants they can get. I Hey, Thanks but I did have a look already. However there is a lot available for Indians and philipinos only.. Guess this is not too common for europeans outside their countries. Anyway, thanks again...

Flat sharing and villa sharing (as in a house converted into flats) is now illegal in Duba......a law was passed about a year or so agoi...someone correct me if I am wrong?
