Can someone who has an International Driving Licence (issued in UAE) and an Australian PR, drive there (friend's car or rental car)????
Passport = Indian and currently having both Indian and UAE driving licences apart from the International Driving Licence???

Maybe it is different in Victoria but when my BIL came to WA as a PR with a UK licence he was not allowed to drive on it past 30 days. It was about 6 years ago though. Sounds like you are all good to go in Victoria then :)

The vicroads link says that those holding a PR can drive on their own licence (i.e the one issued here in UAE) for 6 months and we would have to take the driving test after 6 months...

As a permanent resident you cannot drive on an International Licence issued outside of Australia. International Drivers Licences may only be used for under 30 days if you are on a visitors visa. You will need to apply for an Australian issued International Licence and this will give you (I think) 30 days to convert it to a full Australian Licence by taking a written and driving test. HTH :)

Why don't you give RTA Australia(Road and Traffic Authority) a quick call? They will be able to give you the most up to date info. The police there is very strict about holding a proper license.
