Complicated question regarding maid´s visa - sorry , first time maid employer

Hi,
we are a little bit in a dilema.
We have finally found a nice maid, we would like to sponsor. At the moment she is here on a working visa and will fly back to her home country on Thursday for a few days until we have her residence visa.
And there the problem comes. My hubby will change job beginning of April and we need to wait until he has his residence visa to sponsor her.
Would it be easier for us, to provide her with a visit visa and than change it in April to a residence visa? If yes, how much is it more and how is the procedure.
Is there a department I can get special information about that or should I contact her embassy?
