our gardener put down some grass seed in some bare spots now our yard is infested with ants. You see a trail of them coming over the wall from the neighbouring yard. What can we do? Will calling pest control help?

Try the Teroll (?) Ant Killer from Ace. The ants carry it into the nest and it kills off the whole lot. Comes in little semi sealed containers - so safe for kids and animals..

We had the same problem when we put down grass seeds, I'd never seen so many ants and was worried as they were taking so many of the seeds:\: We tried all "natural" ways of getting rid of the ants and none of them worked so ended up spraying them every few hours with insect killer! It might be worth calling pest control as our problem went on for days, oh and also watch out for birds eating your seeds!! Good luck
