Definitely use Craigslist and only look for "no fee" apartments. Realty fees can be 15% of the annual rent. Very expensive. You don't say where on the upper west side. It spans from 52nd street to about 120th. I would lok for something closeto the river near Riverside Park. 2 bedrooms will run anywhere from 2500 to 6 or 7 thousand a month. Are you looking fora brownstone or building? Is a doorman important? And forget about parking!
