Day 5

Since Friday Freckles jr has eaten 2 yoghurts, 1 slice of toast with the crusts cut off, 3 strawberries and a few bites of banana

How long is this sustainable? He is drinking plenty of milk and water.

perhaps you can stick a stew in a slow cooker. When the house smells of food it somehow increases the appetite. Make a batch of cinnamon rolls.....gooooooey with cream cheese frosting.

You could make an iceblock - frozen fruit with apple or orange juice in the blender. Fun to eat and gets him some nutrients. I've made it with pedialyte for DD when she was sick and she never knew the difference.

Keep offering and feed anything he will eat, suggest all the stuff he loves, try to get some Vit C in as well. ideas; fruit dipped in chocolate sauce, ice cream, jelly, anything at all.

if he is drinking alot of milk why not switch it up and make a milkshake with a banana and strawberries, throw in a tbls of good protein powder and other things...even some chocolate if he like that ;) i am sure a wee bit of icecream would not go amiss either lol Thanks Sue...he is a fickle wee thing..milk must only be drank pure and in a bottle...I know he is 2 1/2!!!! Icecream is a great idea tho..will pick some up at lunchtime

I agree with leaving out finger foods. DS is a few months older than your LO. For him I usually leave out a bowl of cheerios or raisins.

thats what I thought...I guess when he is hungry he will eat. Just worried that he isn't getting enough energy to actually fight the bl00dy virus. Got a weekend of festivities planned - company do, St patrick's day party, friend's bday bbq etc...have a feeling I will be spending most of it on my own! Still..he isn't contagious as other child is totally fine...what to do?

He is okay. The milk is providing a nutrient that may make him feel full.
