I am not sure what you need to do...really it would be easier if I was looking at it! how i described to you is exactly as mine is wired up for recording.

you could use another set of av cables going from OUT on dvd recorder to IN on tv. then search on tv for av connection.

so your vhs will be playing and dvd will be recording. I record onto HDD and then edit before putting into dvd So i need to connect both Vhs and Dvd to the tv??no the cables will go 'OUT' on the vhs and 'IN' on the dvd recorder...then the dvd recorder should be using an HMDI cable going in to tv My Dvd recorder doesn't have a HDMI port, What else can i use? Sorry to sound a bit stupid but i really dont know much about this...

when you turn your tv on, you will choose to watch the hdmi channel. find the one that is connected to your dvd recorder/ then click the av button on your dvd recorder until you locate the vhs input. all the while, keep the vhs playing so youcan detect it.

use the av cables. put them on out on your vhs player and in on the dvd recorder. when you play the tape on vhs you should be able to see it through the tv, try clicking av on your dvd recorder until you find the channel
