Hi Ladies

We have just become the proud owners of an apartment in the UK. The plan was to use it as a holiday home as our own house has tenants. I have now entered the minefield of house and contents insurance. Can anyone give me the name of a company that insures buildings and contents for non-uk residents but the property is in the UK.

Thanks

About 10 years ago we had a similar property and used a company called Towergate who specialise in that sort of thing - www.towergateinsurance.co.uk - were good then, don't know what they're like now. You could try searching on www.moneysupermarket.com - they have specialist housing insurance searches.

Our London appt is covered (building insurance) by the annual service charge. We have not got contents insurance, but we should do it. If you find out let me know!! If you have regular insurance and live overseas, they will not honor any claims.
