Hi,

Would like to get a second TV upstairs but OSN want to charge the same for the 2nd box as what we pay for the 1st box - so we would be paying double what we pay now. No discount!

Is there a way around this? I know when we lived in the UK a guy came in, connected a couple of wires and bingo we had a second point upstairs.

TIA

You can get around it in a way....you can get another connection but you will only be able to change the channel from the main box and whatever is showing on the main TV will also show on the one upstairs and if the channel is changed on the main TV then it will also change on the one upstairs. My DH and I did this so that we could watch a show and then climb into bed and finish watching it rather than sitting in the living room. The only problem is that once that show is finished and we want to watch something else one of us has to get out of bed and go to the living room to change the channel. That's where the negotiations begin! All snug in bed and neither of us wants to get up ;-) I usually win and get to stay in bed while he goes to change the channel. Anyway, now we're just going to pay for the whole extra box. I know it seems like a lot. They also have a deal where you can get a "kids" box and it only allows some of the extra channels like a whole set of kids shows, the news channels and the Discovery, food and travel channels. For that it is 300+ AED a month and for the two boxes it is 400+ AED a month.
