Nearly ready to take on our maid - or are we? Having red tape nightmare
Hi all
I think (hope) we've found a great nanny for our son - I've interviewed, checked references with two families etc, been in touch a lot with her, and seen her twice so she can meet my hubby too. Ok so far so good.
Now we're almost in a position to take her on a few really hard to get around issues are leaping up at me:
1. Tenancy contract - ours, for some painful reason does not state the number of bedrooms - nor has it been attested by the land department. What's the going consensus on attestation? Is it *really* necessary? Has anyone been asked to provide an attested contract recently? Or turned away for not having one?
I have asked landlord to fax over statement saying we have 3 beds plus maids room - phoned land department and think this will be ok.
2. NoC - Now this is worrying me the most. Having initially requested a visa transfer it now seems her current employer will cancel her visa and provide us with an NoC. However, we haven't seen this yet and I am extremely concerned because I do not want to take any risks on this and go against labour law. Are we mad to just rely on the fact she'll bring it on the day?
3. Can maids move in before the visa is stamped and all is done and dusted? Say, after you've done the initial visit to DNRD? how does that all work? What have others done?
I am working full time, and driving myself mad with my incessant worrying about this.
Anyone who can provide even the least bit of advice please shout!
Thanks
