Mangrove and Seashore seem overpriced to me. Al Raha is nice but like Chgo2AD said, no community pool. There's a compound in the city, Khalidiyah Village. My friend lives there and loves it but it's more expensive than those off the island. We are at Sas al Nakhl compound. We like it here. You might want to check it out. Good luck!

i must say i have spent 2 days touring round villas in abu dhabi and they are absolutely rubbish compared to dubai, the quality of the finish and the way they cram them in with no gardens is appalling and then they want to charge premium rent....think i will stick with dubai it has always been like that, there is more room in dubai when they started to build it. before in abu they really only built on the island nobody would go across the bridges without a "passport" unless they were going to the airport....... in dxb there is more choice, always been cheaper, paid in many cheques, much nicer builds, better facilitites, greener.....

also be aware that as an aldar community, there is restrictions, ie you must only use approved contractors etc.

Pros - large, modern with open kitchens and good build quality. There are a ton of parks where the kids can play and there is also Raha Plaza on site which has restaurants, dry cleaners, small grocery store, nail place, etc. There is also a weekly playgroup there if you have kids. It also has Al Raha and Yasmina school on the property. Cons - No community pool although there is a fitness center. The air conditioning bills can be high so keep this in mind when you figure out your budget.
