Hi

Just recently moved here due to husband's work and looking for somewhere to live. For the first year we are looking at Al Reef or Al Muneera. We are looking for a shared pool and ideally a play area for my little boy (20months). Can anyone give any advice or experiences on either place? Does anyone know if there are any play groups at either place? And whether there is a shop nearby?

And can anyone confirm that al raha gardens doesn't have a shared pool as this is one of the reason we didn't consider this area.

Thanks

Thanks for letting me know about the apartment but we would be looking for 2-3 beds as a 4 would be too big for us. Thanks though.

Thanks for your reply, the info is very helpful. We viewed a few properties in al reef yesterday and noticed it seemed to be more families and kids playing out. Think we have decided to go al reef for that reason. Will check out the Facebook sites as really keen for us to get involved and make friends. Maybe will see you around in al reef! Thanks again

Hi There are lots of get togetherS arranged in al rEef, there are some very active Facebook sites for al reef Residents that you will find of use, especially baby al reef. While there are pool facilities, there is only one small grocery store, and its a 15 minute drive along the highway to the nearest supermarket. However, on the plus side there are lots of kids and a couple of playparks too. You might also want to check out abu dhabi mums its a group who organise activities for mums and babies, would be especially good over summer when going outdoors isn't an option, I believe they host a lot of groups at Zayed sports city, I haven't been yet but plan to soon. I live in al reef so can only tell you what its like here, I know al muneera is closer to shops etc and I am sure the accommodation will be nice. If You want any more info just ask!

Thank you for the information. Do you know if there are any toddler groups near al reef as I'm keen for my son to make friends (and me!)

Thanks you are right raha gardens doesnt have a shared pool, only the bigger ones have private pools, they will be building it but its still a long time coming. al reef or raha beach? well i would go for al reef as its establishing now there are loads of kids to play with and there is green space but its right on the outskirts of the airport (which they are extending) also its further out, raha beach is still new, they have dimarco ac's and they could be affected either by the flight path or the noise from yas island. playgrounds there are some in kca/raha. little shop in al reef has just opened in some of the areas, but more shopping in raha/kca areas.
