Hi,

Its been only more than a month since I have come here and my hair is going crazy.. Both, my husband and me, are having a very bad hair fall.. I have checked a few options for water filters here like 'So safe' and one from 'Aqua Recycling systems'... Could you guys please guide me on which is a good option, or if there are any other methods or brands..

hair darkens with age naturally, children's hair often changes from blond to dark/med brown with onset of puberty! yeh i know but the sun will of course have an affect on it thats what i mean. they must have started puberty young then lol. had 15 years of it here. I wanted to add that my child's hair is going dark really fast and my husband is loosing tons (he's got massive amounts of hair at 50 so no, he is not the balding type). I have lost so much that I have to wear a hairpiece, which is heartbreaking. I stop dyeing, and blow drying 2 years ago. We tried installing one of those filters but the way the plumbing works in our flat it is not practical to install it. Can I buy a bottle of drinking water and use it for the hair? Does it have to be mineral water like Masafi?

Where can I purchase Indigo powder in Dubai? I tried to find it in Lulu,, Geant & also Supermarket in Dubai Mall but could not trace it. I also saw ingredients in Black henna but it was not Indigofera Tinctoria which is scientific name of indigo powder. plz help?? I found some in Deira along Rigga street-it is just not sold under the name "indigo". It said black henna but it looks like powdered green peas (it was a clear plastic pouch. You can also tell if it is the real deal by putting some on a white plate and adding a tiny bit of water. Wait a few minutes, if the paste turns brown-black it is a chemical compund, if the past turns blueish-green then you know it is indigo. I got this tip from hennaforhair.com (a really good site for both henna and indigo). However I must say I found this indigo about 3 years ago so I don't know if they still sell it. Desalination is the removal of salt from seawater to produce drinking water. Over 70% of the water in the United Arab Emirates is desalinated water Whilst desalinated water is considered safe to drink, it causes many problems for hair, scalp and skin. A common complaint in the Arabian Gulf from both men and women is the loss of hair. Dry skin, hair and scalp, hair loss, brittle hair and split ends are common, [b'>mainly due to desalinated water and to the use of chlorine[/b'>. How little you know! Brushing the hair with a bristle brush does NOT transfer sebum down the hair shaft! Fact! You are correct about the AC, humidity and temp extremes are contributing factors. Nutrition is also important! Brushing hair stimulates blood supply to the scalp, removes dead skin cells from the scalp and distributes sebum over the hair shaft for moisturizing and protection. If you don’t believe me google it, I studied hair for over 10 years my best friend is a trichologist in London. If you brush your hair before you wash it removes dead sells that washing alone can’t remove. You might think that you know it all but your lack of facts and evidence to support your claims prove otherwise.

before i came out here 15 years ago my hair was bright blonde, over the years, with the sun etc its got darker and darker. both my boys who when they were born had white blonde like i used to when little and over the years they are much darker now too.

my point! breakage!! regular shampooing will eliminate any blockage of the follicle (which is actually a myth)! It’s not just the water desert sun, silica in the air, extremes of temperature, AC and humidity ruin the hair but desalinated water is a major factor. Shampoos used to remove chlorine are harsh on the hair because theyre actually stripping the hairs natural oils. Brushing with a bristle brush to get the oils further down the hair shaft is better than using harsh shampoos.

Water in Dubai cause hair loss? The water contains chlorine fact! What are the problems with that? the damaging effects of chlorine on their hair. While chlorine can dry out and weaken hair strands, the chemical does not cause hair loss or balding. To reduce the effects of chlorine, wash your hair immediately after swimming to remove any chemicals. It is important for the sake of your hair to be aware of what can and cannot cause hair loss and balding. There are many myths out there regarding hair loss and balding, some more believable than others, but all have one thing in common- they are not true. So no matter what you’ve heard or seen to support the following myths, there is no scientific evidence to back up these claims. Chorine is found in tap water and in the swimming pools. It is a harsh oxidiser added to the water to kill bacteria and it adversely affects hair. Any build up at the mouth of the follicle may cause the hair to break off, followed by coating of the scalp and blocking further new hair growth. Active chlorine in the hair can cause hair to feel gummy when wet and straw-like when dry.

any of them that are sold here are fine. i have never had one on my shower etc, but i do have a filter on my dishwasher and washing machine, to take away the sand before it gets into the machine and therefore ruin the machine and the clothes etc.
