Hi

I am taki g some visitors to Abu Dhabi for a day trip mainly to do the mosque tour in the morning. We would like to have a nice, and not crazily expensive lunch afterwards without having to go too far, is there a few places you could recommend, it would be great if it was perhaps Arabic/ Lebanese style food. And anything else we could maybe see for an hour or two after this before heading back to Dubai? All ideas great fully received as am at a bit of a loss having never visited there myself before!

Heritage village is a good place to visit (its next to Marina Mall), also you can have a cup of tea on top of Marina mall, nice view of Abu Dhabi & gulf, pass by Emirates Palace, all next to each other.

There is an Abd Al Wahab restaurant in Souq Qaryat Al Beri if you are looking for arabic. The souq is quite close to the mosque. I agree with Nedi that there isn't much to do in AD. You could go and visit Emirates Palace which is very posh and have tea or a drink there. The only other thing to do in AD is to see the corniche, they have a lovely corniche that you can walk along and it's not far from the Emirates Palace which is on the other side of the corniche. Also, it might be worth stopping by Yas Island on the way there or on the way back just for the novelty of seeing that.

Perhaps a visit to Souq Qaryat Al Beri (adjacent to Shangri la Hotel) - it is similar to the Souk Madinat Jumeriah in Dubai. There are restaurants such as Noodle House, Sho Cho, Meat Company, and a few others, check online too. You could maybe use an Entertainer vouchers for the meal? Other than the Mosque tour and the Souk Q. Al Beri, I don't think there is much else worth looking at if your time is limited. Hope this helps and maybe some one else on the forum has some suggestions too?
