Looking at one of the posts...see that duty free was talked about being allowed to be taken into AD....am I right? Having to get rid of all stock in Qatar before I leave but could stock up on the way in! Is there an allowance restriction? you are allowed i think 2 bottles of spirits etc so any more and they will take off you, you will just have to have a party.

Thanks Lulu....think I may know who you are although I have never met you....I know the sweeneys (EM ) Am planning to do the same thing, have so much booze to get rid of.....but looking forward to the move....should be there by end of April....hoping to make it to the expat coffee once I find a place to live.

We had a big party to 'drink the bar dry' before we left Doha and gave away any booze that was left. You can buy duty free at the airport in Abu Dhabi on the way in, but quota IS limited. Something like 2 bottles of spirits each, or one case of beer each. Good luck with the move. You'll LOVE Abu Dhabi. If you need any more help, please feel free to ask :)
