I have also tried this very expensive company called the box. I paid 1450aed just to move a glass dining table with 6 chairs from my friends house in jumeirah to meadows I thought i would pay for an impeccable and professional service. And guess what? They showed up 1 hour late with no packing material!!! They wasted 1hour waiting for the material (bubble wrap) and used leftover cardboards from previous jobs to wrap the bottom of the chairs.
Found out that the company has actually subcontracted the job to some indian guys with an open truck.
I have opened a case with the DED and im seeking a refund.
Never use the box!!.
Any man with a van move stuff from anywhere with fracture of this (250 - 400) dirhams as long as inside Dubai you go 600 dirhams if sharjah to Dubai or vice versa
They show up exactly on time, English or no English they do great job, if tell them to dismantle the furniture they bring their tools with them, they have packageing with them and if in doubt just send them the location via whatsapp

Unfortunately faced problems as well, is there any professional moving service out there?
And preferably one that does not come with 5 first time posters saying how amazing they are .... ;)
Had the unfortunate experience of using euro movers. It was the most stressful experience moving houses in Dubai with them. And the cherry on the cake is that they stole wine bottles! Only figured it our after days after the move! Will never use them again
I had the same experience with Global Pack ...I shipped 25 boxes door to door but it was stuck in London for weeks. Turns out they hadn't paid the company who deliver to the house.
When it was delivered they left it curb side as Global pack didn't pay them door to door......
I had to unpack and carry my stuff up 3 flights of stairs......
I feel your pain but these companies can rip you off and you can't do a thing about it......you need to do a thorough check of credentials before you ship .........next time mine goes as airfreight. Then I know I have more control over it.
To add..I bombarded the UK handlers with phone calls until they gave me a delivery date......even called the Managing Director late at night to get updates.......he wasn't happy but it worked .
