Hi - which primary school is better DESS or JPS. I am also looking at post Year 6 options where DESS students go to DESC whereas JPS go to Jumeirah College. I would rate Jumeirah College over DESC.

Hi, While being offered a placement both in DESS and JPS for the FS1, we selected JPS for my DD. Not only because of logistics (we live in Umm Suqeim and travelling through daily congestions on the busy roads felt unfair to our DD), but also because at that time JPS offered a better infrastructure. I'm talking about 7 years ago. DESS facilities looked a way too tired, cramped and not up-to-date. As regards to JPS, the school is good, but not excellent in sport, leaving a number of kids behind. Academics requirements are continuesly changing; child's progress may often depend on how good/motivated a class teacher your child ends up with for the academic year is. The guaranteed placement at JC is a drawback for me, as kids are not taught at all how to push and work harder. That leads to a major shock in the first years in college, especially if a child gets a placement at DC. This being said, we did not regret even one day that we chose JPS over DESS. JPS is still on my top list of schools in Dubai.
