Find out what days the public and private sector will have off over the New Year's long weekend...
The UAE government announced that the public sector staff will be given a three-day weekend on the occasion of New Year's Day. As anticipated, January 1st, 2017, will be an official holiday.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has declared the same, making January 1st an official paid holiday for all private sector employees.
Work will resume on Monday 2nd January, 2017.
