Hi, the rates are not based on rack rates...if you see the terms and conditions, it says based on Best Available rates. i have used the travel book last year and the deals are amazing and are definitely based on best available rates. i have bought one this year too. The selection of hotels and resorts are far more exciting than the 2011 book. i think its worth the buy as the book has 3 vouchers for each property which is indeed great saving and by just using a 20% off on Best Available Room rate makes up for the cost of the book!!! <em>edited by edel_eve on 03/01/2012</em>

I got the travel book given as a gift and have to be honest that I only used 1 voucher out of the whole book. Saying that, the 1 voucher paid for the cost of the book and more, so I think it's a good deal. I intended to use a few other of the vouchers for weekend getaways in the UAE, but as last year was a bit chaotic in regards to DH's job stability and then we ended up moving from Dubai to Doha, I never got round to using them!....I'm a big fan of the Entertainer books though and get the main Family book every year!

When I looked into it last year it was rack rates, I guess if you want something specific at a spefic time it's good but if you are likr me, it doesn't seem worthwhile, and I love vouchers...

I'm a bit cynical about this Entertainer Travel book - is it actually worth buying? It's just that I am pretty darn good at hunting out good hotel and flight deals online - can the book really beat them? Do you not have to pay rack rates to qualify for the special offers? Does it really work out as being a good purchase? I am genuinely interested to know, as the bargain-hunter in me will definitely want to buy it if the offers are worth having!

Hi I was at Villaggio mall last month and the Entertainer group were out with their new Qatar Entertainer and the Entertainer Travel book for 2012. I bought a book each and I must say that the Travel book is amazing this year...it has almost 300 vouchers for 2 for 1 room nights in some of the best hotels in Middle East, Thailand, Maldives, Morocco and even in Amsterdam. Rachel, they were selling the Entertainer Travel Book at Virgin last year (along with the regular Entertainer Book). Haven't checked lately but I imagine they'll be selling them both again for 2012 shortly. <em>edited by Nik_172 on 26/11/2011</em>

loubrown - sent you an e-mail...RachelA - yes, there is a separate travel book, just with hotel vouchers in....I got mine in Dubai, so not sure whether it's available here (went to a bookshop yesterday to ask about the 2012 Qatar Entertainer book and the assistant had no idea what I was talking about...she thought it was like the Guinness Book of Records...lol!)...just had a look at the book and it does have a couple of Doha hotels in it, so should be available here....will be going to the big book store opp. Sushi Minto today, so will ask and let you know if I see it!
