Do you have reduced working hours at your place of work during Ramadan?
I am working at one of the Universities here in Educaiton City and was told that only non-exempt employees can work a reduced work schedule , but the exempt employees have to work the normal full day? Doesnt sound right though? I was thinking all companies would need to reduce work hours during Ramadan?
What does your company do? Just curious?

We work our full shifts during Ramadan but get overtime for every hour after the 6 mandated by law.

"For private sector workers, Qatar restricts work to six hours a day during Ramadan (with some exceptions, depending on the type of work you do, not whether or not you’re fasting) and carries out surprise checks to ensure the labor law is adhered to." http://dohanews.co/post/27247349981/government-employees-to-work-5-hours-in-ramadan-deputy hope that helps....

My husband has worked for a non-Qatari firm for 2 Ramadans and it's been my understanding that the Muslims work reduced hours and everyone else is expected to work regular hours. I think this varies based on employers, but I thought this was pretty typical. I have some friends who work for Qatari-firms that go home when the Muslims go home and work the rest of the day from home. edited by kerboo on 15/07/2012

Yes...the notification that went out said core working hours are 6...but in the dept meeting we were told that if you are exempt you have to finish the job for the day...so if that means staying past the 6 hours you will have to...i talked to some colleagues who have done Ramadan here before in my dept..and they say they work the same regular hours...(and by regular they mean the usual extended hours we work anyway!). Our timings are typically 7:30-3:30 but the day never ends before 4:30...

I work in EC as well and we got this in an email: 'In the interest of fairness and in consideration to those observing the Ramadan fast, the work day for all staff is expected to be six hours. However, the University is open and must be able to conduct its business during normal work hours. To ensure that a department is able to continue its operations throughout the entire work day, department heads may need to ask staff to work flexible six hour periods and/or work normal eight (or more) hour days depending on operational demands.'

I'm in education city- as far as I know, my uni is doing a six hour work day across the board regardless of religion or exempt/ non-exempt status. Within our depts we are working out schedules to have coverage for the whole day, with some coming in late and others leaving early. Just closing early doesn't work so well when you have to talk to people in the US daily. But there are plenty of people who seem to think that Ramadan hours only apply to Muslims and others who say it's only for hourly workers. I'm pretty sure that the law of 6 hours is for everyone. QF is working 5 hours - 8:00-1:00. Most govt offices are similar.
