I'm wondering if Aramex have tightened up on their rules recently. I have been using them since they opened and have never had a package stopped until last month. It was the same thing - pay up 55QR or it is destroyed! I have had the same thing shipped without problem before and this time it gets stopped...arrrrgh! Flammable....hmmmm....probably a candle knowing how stupid they can be!

I ordered vitamins from Amazon previously, no problem. They also say they don't ship liquids but I never had a problem ordering face creams, body creams etc.

This is the email they sent me: kindly note that our Aramex UK office has received below packages addressed to you containing items prohibited to ship by law. Having the below details: Aramex tracking # XXXXXXXXXXX Content description: Flammable Weight: 0.2 kg 1. Return the package to the supplier, or send it to an address in UK and for this you should pay us 55QR and give us the address. 2. Or destroy the shpt for free. For future orders please refer to the http://www.shopandship.com/content/uploads/110/218/40004/sns_prohibited%20items%20listing%20page%202.pdf for a general list of materials that are strictly prohibited to ship. I had a shipment stopped last week (flammable) and they phoned and emailed me while holding it in the UK office. They gave me the choice of forwarding it on to another UK address, or returning to sender. I chose to have it forwarded to my Mum's house and I had to pay QR55 for this (just had to pop into the Aramex booth in Landmark to pay my bill).

Does anyone know what they do with it if they "stop" the shipment, as in, will they return it to the shipper?

I think you'll be okay with Aramex. A friend recently did a big order for a nutritional system that included shakes, cleanse powders and a bunch of different supplements, and it all got through with Aramex. This was in October, and I think she might have even done another order since then. I think the only thing you need to worry about is certain prescription medications - but vitamins and supplement seem to be okay. Maybe do a small order as a test run, so if there's a problem at least you won't lose much?

is it possible to order vitamins/supplements online and have them shipped? Aramax/fed ex/dhl? I've looked over their www's but the info is all a bit cryptic... I know someone who has a prescription mailed from the UK each month through the post office there to work here but but just double checking. This made me giggle: from the aramex www (read closely) Controlled drugs may not be sent by Aramex. Those discovered in transit will be stopped, and handed to Customs or the Police, who may take[b'> illegal action[/b'> against the sender and/or recipient. Examples: Cocaine, Cannabis resin, LSD, Narcotics, Morphine, Opium, Psychotropic substances etc edited by ccdoha on 03/01/2012
