There used to be one on the approach road, but I've not seen it for ages.
As to the ones patrolling the 40mph limits around the perimeter, I've never seen any there BUT I suspect they might be using their mobile cameras - these are almost impossible to spot until its too late - they are very small, very low and mounted on a little camera tripod. Nothing like the mobile 'scamera' vans used in Britain which are easy to spot!
They are very crafty about hiding them after hedges and behind bollards. A man usually sits in an unmarked Landcruiser nearby, but only just within sight of the camera. I kept getting done by them on F-ring until I worked out what the new speed limits were and what the cameras looked like.
I was rather pleased to see those signs: it is a residential and shopping area after all, and at some times of the year there will be people walking around with their children (once a few more people move in!). OK, possibly not on those outer roads, but even so, anything that reduces speed in this country - as far as vehicles on the road go - is good.
We live on The Pearl and we have not seen any cameras around...checked for fines and have none...have noticed that many cars speed heavily down that approach road to The Pearl (where the security boxes are) and it's the usual flashing of the headlights to move you out of the way. lol....maybe some cams need to be placed there...
Sorry, no idea, he just called it out and I was busy keeping them alive ;) , but you can go onto the Qatar government wbsite and link to the traffic violations and imput your licence number and it will tell you if you have been flashed. Maybe they aren't even live! That would be good! Good luck!
Oh dear, that's not good! I've been guilty of flying down that road when I'm running late for work! It certainly can't be your typical speed camera then because those one can be spotted miles away... What did it look like? Looks like i'll be driving at a snails pace in the morning. :(

That's so funny! My son pointed one out to me last night leaving, after dinner at Carlucchio's, so it was between there and the turn to exit to the bridge.
I see 'speed radar' signs around but does anyone know if there are actually cameras? More specifically, on the road you merge onto when exiting the first roundabout once you've entered the Pearl. Not sure if I explained it clearly but it's almost like a highway type road. I see people flying down road, yet I have never seen a camera, flash or anything. :\:
