commuting is not allowed as per HSE policy, also the fields are far away and it can be dangerous doing the commute every day. You will rent a flat in the city and come to see your family during your time off. The accommodation in the field is just a room for yourself, no family allowed.
imolinar,
You mean the company doesn't allow commuting or it's not possible? And what would be the closest place to rent to the fields? Do you know if family can accompany? How are the accommodations at the field sites?
I work for that company but I am Abu Dhabi based. If you are in the field you will have to stay there no commuting allowed. You will have a cycle of 5-2 or 6-2. That means 5 days of work in the field and 2 off. You could live anywhere in AD.

Thanks everyone! We are still waiting for more information from the company. Hopefully when I know a bit more, I can come back with more questions.
Thanks for all your comments :)
Mai78: I have a 4B apartment with lovely views to rent in Al Muneera. I am a British landlord looking to rent this out.
Let me know if you are interested, we can negotiate on the rent.
still not found a tenant yet? as i said kca or raha beach is further away from kcb/bainyas/mbz which is closer to the sandpit roads. a lot of the problem with raha beach is a few of the buildings are on the flight path, and even if they are not they can get affected by the noise from yas island. a lot of tenants go to see the buildings during the day, but of course, the planes are really more active after midnight. to get from mbz over to kca and beyond to raha beach can add another 15 mins at least onto your journey.

Also, there are plenty of new developments near the end of the island (Al Reef, Khalifa City A, Al Raha) that would make commutes to the field office a little less painful.
khalifa city b or the new places coming up in baniyas or moh bin zayed will be closer to the "sandpit" than al reef or kca/raha etc.

then yes there is nothing there, madinet zayed as in the town will be one south of abu dhabi there are little towns dotted about, so if you have family you will prob be based in abu dhabi 90km is commutable, people live in dubai and commute to abu dhabi which is like 150km each day
Hi everyone!
I have a question about living and working for ADCO in Abu Dhabi. I understand that the field sites for ADCO are far from Abu Dhabi and there is basically nothing near by (at least that is how it appears on google map). Where would one live if they work there? Please offer advice as I am really curious and need to know asap!
Thanks!!
