I was curious, besides IKEA, are there any other furniture stores that sell good quality furniture at a reasonable price? Also being an expat area, I've also heard that there are 2nd hand stores as well. Any recommendations/advice for the above, please?

Thanks so much:)

I have some household furniture and loads of plants for sale. Please send me your e-mail address and I will send pictures. Or if you prefer, send me an e-mail to mwilliams at waterman - int dot com and I will send the photos. I've got some nice stuff for sale at a good price. Oh...we just went and got some stuff earlier today; but I would still be interested to see if there other stuff I might be interested in:) My email add is [email protected]. Thanks ShellFC:)

Hi all, we just moved and because we dont know how long we are going to be here have rented furniture from a company called Indigo Living. You can rent everything from king sized beds to knives and forks, sheets, towels, and you can rent on a monthly basis for up to 2 years. We have basically rented everything for our 2 bed apartment, so easy and some really ncie stuff. Everything you rent is brand new, and you acn even decide to buy it later on. I'd really recommned them. Good service too (which Im learning is not always the case!!!). Their office is in Dubai - 04 339-7704, but they will come to AD no worries. Happy shopping! Have a good weekend all.

Dubizzle is great, I bought most of my stuff on Dubizzle, excellent condition at half the price it was in Ikea and Homecentre. There are always people leaving so a lot of stuff is practically new. I wouldn't buy new furniture unless it was something specific I couldn't find on there, as when I sold the brand new stuff I bought when I first moved here (fancied a change) even though it was perfect I never got more than half the price.

There is a home center next to Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi. I believe there is also a furniture store that is located in the gold souk on 4th street as well. Not to sure about the used furniture shop. I have bought some pieces off dubizzle if you are interested. good luck! Thanks so much:) I think I am going to try and head to Marina Mall this weekend to check it out! Dubizzle sounds great and I might check out the one on 4th Street as well. Thanks again Sonomachic:)
