Hi ladies,

Just a quick question I was wondering if anybody knows how easy it is to get a driving licence in Abu Dhabi and to take lessons. Could anybody please tell me roughly how much the whole process costs if I do decide to try and get a licence there.

Thank you in advance :)

also you learn to drive only automatics here, you can do manual but it will cost more i suspect and also there will not be many people that can teach you, best to do elsewhere. also if you have a uk licence then you transfer and when you go back to uk etc you then just update your licence and away you go, if you learn to drive in uae you will after 1 year of living in uk have to take a uk driving test anyways, so just get a uk if you can. also you will be taught properly in uk unlike in uae whereby the standard of driving is awful..... best to learn the proper way in the first place ifyou can

Thank you busybee2 you really are very helpful on this website... I will try and complete it here as I don't think I will have that much time to spend on learning out there.

Hi No, I don't have a licence yet I'm working on it here in the UK, but I'm just trying to find out what the process would be like if I run out time to finish it here. Thank you i would do it in the uk, as thenyou can easily transfer a uk licence to a uae licence. to do the licence here in uae, its expensive, and can take many many many many months.

It depends if you already have a licence from your home country or if you do not have one at all.
