Falcon Hospital between Abu Dhabi and Dubai is really interesting.
Grand Mosque tour is fascinating, I think it starts at 10:00, they provide abayas and shaylas. If you get there later you can wander around yourself, except Friday.
At the Corniche they have "taxis" that look like golf carts that go up and down the Corniche. Also there you can rent bikes and those lowrider pedal things the local kids ride around on (I have no idea what they're called)
Between 26th and 2nd along the Corniche road (other side of the road from the water) is the family park where there is a skateboard area (on the weekend lots of kids showing off there) and a cute little water spray play area for little ones.
Khalifa Park - there are great play things for the kids, and loads of space to run - plus a little train which runs around the perimeter of the park - fun for kids and easier for the 70s, as well as a nice little museum on AD's history. And an aquarium - not as big as the Dubai one (!) but still nice to look at. No where to buy food there though the Park Rotana is nearby.
I have the In-laws visiting next month. They have been several times to Dubai before, so looking at different things to do with them.
Thought of visiting AD for the day, however, apart from a event I went to there a few years ago, we have never visited there. Shame I know after living 6 years in Dubai!!
So, for a day with two young children (2 and 4) and two early 70's in-laws and ourselves, what can we do? MiL isn't interested in shopping malls, but loves souks and things?
Any ideas will be grateful. We don't want to drive into Abu Dhabi and end up spending the day at Marina Mall!!;)
