Allergy testing recommendations

Hi Ladies,

I'm hoping for some advice on where to have a thorough allergy test - preferably the test where they put loads of different allergens on your arm and see which react or a thorough blood test, and also any recommendations for allergy specialists. My GP said they will do a blood test and send it off to be processed but that costs AED3000 which seems like a lot when you wouldn't even be seeing a specialist. I have eczema, asthma and hayfever as well as food allergies and I would really like to know the exact things that set me off. I have searched for this topic but was hoping for some up-to-date info.

TIA

Look on your local medical centre's website and see if the Dr's profiles are listed. At my local one (new medical centre at Arabian Ranches), one of the doctor specialising in (I think) Internal Medicine, has a special interest in Allergy and Asthma. HTH.

Thanks CanadianInDXB - Heather Eade does sound really good but I was hoping for some recommendations for allergy specialists. If I had money to burn I would definitely go see Dr Eade though but as I don't think this will be covered by insurance I cant really afford to see more than one person :(

Do a search for Heather Eade on this forum and see what you think. There are several threads about her that might help you.
