That is extremely high and dangerous if it stays up near those figures. The average recommended is 120/80
Do go back and check in a couple of days and if you are still higher than 145/95, you may want to ask them to test you to find out what the cause may be. And if they are still not worried, then forget your insurance and go elsewhere where you can get a good explanation.
Are you on any medication that may be inducing this? Pill etc? Check your cholesterol etc.
Stress is also a huge factor... and does increase blood pressure... but it's still dangerous to be anywhere near 191/101.
Hopefully it was just the asthma attack, and it will have come back down but better to check and be safe rather than sorry.
Thanks for that, it's just really hard when the staff don't speak very much english, it's just that my pb has never been that high, but it was a very severe asthma attack
Just consulted my asthmatic husband and he was saying that an asthma attack induces stress so of course your BP would go up and as the hospital staff weren't showing any concern then i am sure there is nothing to worry about however if you are concerned go back in couple of days to get your BP done.
hi,
I have asthma and had a very bad attack today. because of my insurance i have to go to jebal Ali hospital, which is usually great. My question is that my BP was 191/101, nobody seemed very concerned, but I am, this seems really high. any advice, was it because of the severity of the attack?
