Hi Ladies,
Could you kindly point me in right direction. i would prefer personal recomendations rather than going in blindly.
DH and I have just been told we need to get our certificates attested for employment.
We both studied in the UK.
what agency can we use for this that is prompt and reliable?
Thanks

When I had mine done a year ago I got the British Council in Dubai to attest the certificate instead of a solicitor which made the process much easier. I then took it to the FCO and UAE Embassy when I was on my hols, and it was accepted for a labour card no problems. You could also send it to the FCO and they will send it on to the Embassy I believe. The link with the info is: http://www.britishcouncil.org/me-uae-attestation-services.htm I had to go to a small branch of the British Council within DESC in Academic City and they are open in the evening. Not the answer to the original question but wanted to mention that the British Council are no longer in DESC, they have gone back to their original building in Oud Metha near Maktoum Bridge / Rashid Hospital.... Oh just a thought we had passports attested for property sale in UK thru James Berry solicitors on SZR - they were excellent, maybe they could help? <em>edited by minimax17 on 27/03/2011</em>

Yes, I think the difficult thing for people here is the certification by a solicitor acceptable to the FCO. Someone recommended this company here the other day, but I haven't seen any more feedback about it: http://www.indexdubai.com/indexdocumentclearing.html

I have just had this done, but in the UK. I had a copy of my certificate certified by a solicitor, then sent it to the FCO who stamped it and sent it to the UAE Embassy for me. The whole thing cost me around £70 with special delivery postage at each stage. A company did say that several of their staff used this company: www.jestomexpress.com, but it was much cheaper to do it myself.
