Autoimmune Disease - Connect With Others
Hi Everyone :)
My name is Daryl. I have two Autoimmune conditions - Crohn's Disease and Lupus.
I was diagnosed with Crohn's at 21 years old and went through a lot during the first few years after receiving that diagnosis. Now, a decade later, thankfully my symptoms relating to this condition are largely under control. However, I am still not classified as in remission.
After I delivered my first baby - a boy - in 2021 I began experiencing new symptoms (severe joint/muscle pain/organ enlargement etc) and had an extreme setback that debilitated me for around a year. The doctors were unable to find an explanation for my symptoms until they finally identified that I was dealing with lupus.
Anyway, that's just to give you some background about me. I'm posting this because I was wondering if there might be anyone suffering with similar issues (or any another type of autoimmune/ chronic illness) that would be interested in connecting?
I would just really like to speak to someone who understands and can maybe share their journey / experiences with different treatments / how they manage things etc etc. I'm tired of the hospital setting so I'd like to meet someone who is down to do a fun, casual meet up!
I'm based in Dubai and my son is now nearly 2 so we can bring kiddies along if that's easier as well :)
