I find Kate Atkinson is variable - I loved "BtSatM" and eagerly went for her next couple of books, but was a bit disappointed. Thoroughly agree with McGinister, "Case Histories" and onwards are excellent reads. Read "Started Early, Took my Dog" last year, and really enjoyed it.
