Have a friend who is a bit down (to be completely honest me too) so we thought we might go do a spa day someplace together. Not super worried about $$, but the Burj is probably out of our league... Looking for recommendations. Some pampering, perhaps a massage, maybe a luncheon and relaxing by a pool would be ideal. Would prefer a place that serves alcohol, but not critical... Thanks! For either 695 or 595 you book the royal Hammam with facial or massage (your choice). Book the hammam for the morning at say 10am then the facial later in the afternoon, have your hammam which finishes after an hour, then use the facilities Jacuzzi, spa etc have some Moroccan tea and dates, then book a lunch at the royal mirage, after lunch go for your facial or massage at either 1pm or 2pm. I personally think its the best treatment in Dubai, and a lovely way to spend the day. You can book just the hammam without the facial which is an hours treatment and you can still use all the facilities for as long as you like, think that costs about 295-495 each. ETA the actual hammam treatment is one hour, and the facial or massage is also one hour. edited by AdviceSeeker on 18/02/2011

What a nice idea! Personally my faves are the Amara @ Park Hyatt - they do a number of packages which include lunch. Not 100% whether they serve alcohol round the spa/pool area though. Also love the Intercon at Festival City - if you book a treatment then you can use the pool etc. Spa at the Atlantis is nice too - though only get pool access if you book a package. I imagine you can use the poolside restaurant still though which serves alcohol. All 3 are in the Body Book too if you have that!
