I am attempting to bring my CV up to date for my life in Dubai. It currently has all my UK experience & achievements etc but I was just wondering if this amount of detail is either necessary or relevant now I am living here. Also should I include my nationality & "passport/visa status" in the body of the CV or in the covering letter?
Any other helpful tips or advice much appreciated in advance.

Thanks Dentro for the heads up. - would never have thought of putting a picture:\: but if it gets you noticed!! I would usually send a covering letter in the UK in perfect English of couse to point out the "highlights" of my CV & those skills particularly appropriate to this position. I also phone up first so that I know the name & designation of the person I will be directing it to. I am used to & more comfortable with the face-to-face approach. Maybe I should leave the photo so that I stand a chance of getting a foot in the door!

hi. cover letter not necessary, they wont read it, may not even reach the decision makers. put everything in the cv what you wanna say. format that works in the uk will work here, but add (at the beginning or the very end): nationality(as per passport), visa status, marital status/number and age of kids if they live here, age. also add a picture at the top corner of first page, select a good passport style picture, no holiday pics , lol. good luck
