Hi ladies

I've finished my thryoid medication (T3 - cytomel) and Dr. issued a new prescription today - problem is American hospital is out of stock! They aren't expecting it for a few weeks. The pharmacist called around to City Hospital, Rashid, Dubai, etc and all the major hospital claim they don't have any either. Since this is a daily medication, I'm not sure what to do?

Does anyone know a pharmacy that has any in stock or another way for me to obtain it as I have my prescription with me.

Hi Xmasbaby. I also dont convert T4 to T3 so take pure T3. I get from a place in Germany. As long as you have a valid prescription they will UPS it to you directly in Dubai. Expensive but worth it. I have tried many times at various pharmacies but always been told that T3 was not available only the usual Thyroxin(T4) which for me is useless. So when it is available do you just take a script from your Dubai dr to the pharmacy at American hospital? Leave me your email if you need the details of the compounding pharmacy in Germany. Thanks - - yes basically, when doctor prescribes, I take to pharmacy in the American Hospital and have it filled. Is the compounding pharmacy your referring to Germany or Belgium? as there has been some changes recently to Belgium "rules" that have just caused me no end of problems!

I wouldn't go thru the website below, though, looks like they sell "athletic enhancement" and botox! wha?? I can't believe this isn't really sold in this part of the world, because many thyroid issues have to do with conversion. A lot of extra t4 doesn't help that, makes things worse! Good luck and hope you get it sorted. I was able to rehab my thyroid issues naturally, but I wouldn't wish those 10 months on anyone!!! Beebers, Yes, I agree. I did a search and it looks like its steriods and the like. I am not willing to risk it being bogus or something. As for here in the UAE, they do sell it but its controlled and so only a few pharmacies carry it (normally at the hospitals). American hospital said it was re-ordered but that it would take some time. Wow thats great that you were able to naturally help your thyroid. I too, wouldn't wish it on anyone...

In this part of the world, they have tiromel which is the same as cytomel, and thyroxin which I THINK is the same as t3. You may try asking for those? I don't think purchasing prescription drugs from a website is a good idea, but perhaps if your doctor worked with you on that? It's not like it's codeine, but I believe it is controlled.
