21-year-old Dean Whitney was born in Sheffield to a British dad and Yemeni mum. He has always dreamt of travelling to Yemen to meet his extended family and get in touch with his Muslim and Yemeni identity. But will his life-changing journey become a nightmare in the country now better known for international terrorism and for officially being one of the most dangerous places on earth?

Well worth a watch, if you have BBC I player working or can download.

I'm having terrible trouble watching videos of any kind (You Tube, MegaVideo, iPlayers on any channel) on my computer at the moment - I think it's the du broadband connection, or the router connection. Skype is rubbish at the mo, too.

Uninstall BBC iPlayer completely, reboot your computer and re-install BBC iPlayer. It should do the trick.

Thanks but have tried that. It seems no programms are available for me to watch in my region. Then your V** is not working, although it is saying it is, it can not be unless your server is not a UK one? CHoose to use a UK server and see if that helps. Hope you can get to see it.

I saw this on TV when I was in the UK recently. Yes by the end of that he is thanking God he lives in Britain! LOl Yes, but i thought he had a really lovely nature and perspective on life, he was moved to tears when he heard of the young marriages and just thought it wrong, or that women should be subservient to men. Now think that all fundementalists in the UK who have never seen their home countries of their parents/grand parents should take a trip to see the reality. You can certainly see how young Britons travelling to extreme countries could be brainwashed. edited by Sticky Wicket on 18/03/2011 Yes he did say that the place inspired him to try to be a "better Muslim" but was seriously scared by the attempt on the British Consul staff and then there is his cousin with a brain in his bullet ...

I have it downloaded... but unless you have an FTP site I can send it to.... it is way to big to send anywhere by email.. The rest of the technology escapes me... but it is the sort of show you might see crop up on you tube at some stage.. Worth a watch!

This sounds so cool to watch. How can I watch this without a BBC I player thing?

I thought it was impressive what a short trip did to change his attitude. How he came to realise how lucky those who are brought up in the UK are relative to others in the world. Although I think he is a relatively intelligent and compassionate person at heart so how could he not be affected? I would love to send some others on the this journey so they realise the same!
