Ever since we came to Dubai/UAE I have never seen a symbol for the Dirham - is there one?

thanks Diamante .... but is the symbol just DHS in Arabic, sorry I am embarrassed to say I have no Arabic text knowledge? yes, where is says, "sign: د.إ" are just the first arabic letters of dirham (eg د, dal) and emirates (eg ا, alif).

It's either AED100 or 100dhs isn't it? No - the official code is AED - DHS is just an abbreviation for dirhams. LOL........neither of you answer the OP's question - I think she is meaning is there a symbol like a pound, dollar or euro - the answer to which I don't know. ;)
