Hi all, so newish to Dubai, have organised the apartment, found a car, etc, and finally have time to indulge my hobby. Problem is, not sure where to start. The other half and myself are keen divers and are looking for a reputable dive club for regular getaways and socialising. Any suggestions? Thanks very much!

Me and my OH go dive at Jebel Ali Hotel, they do trips etc, OH has Masters and me only 40m license. We also do holidays at Sandy Beach in Fujeirah in Al Aqa its really beautiful, we saw turtels, barracuda. nows the perfect time to we.

There is only one true dive club in Dubai and that is http://www.desertsportsdivingclub.net/ Most of the commercial dive centres such as Al Boom, Pavilion or Atlantis all have their own 'dive clubs' but they are all run with an eye on the 'future custom' they can generate. That's not a bad thing, especially if you want further training but if you want the club atmosphere check out the link above. <em>edited by Andi_diver on 16/03/2011</em>

My friend is in the process of doing her padi with Al Boom. They are good and also linked with some of the good hotels in Ras al Khaimah. Also Arabian Diver. Both have dive clubs and do 2 dives at the weekend from either jebel ali or ras al khaimah to mussandam (2hr drive) where all the good dive sites are - hope that helps
