I was looking for some drops for my eyes (eg Optrex) in Boots today but everything had a warning re HBP. Is there anything out there that is safe to use? Thanks

Optrex eye drops may contain BAK which is a preservative which isn't so nice on eyes that are already dry. The single vials usually do not have preservatives, hence needs to be thrown out once you open them. Fish oil or flaxseed oil can help with tear quality. May be best to see an ophthalmologist as there are different causes for dry eyes. :)

You probably want something like natural tears, it's basically just saline solution with no other added chemicals. Ask a pharmacist to recommend you some.

I have 'dry eyes' and always use Refresh Plus which is available in all pharmacies. The drops are in individual droppers that you can open freshly each day. I too have high blood pressure which is controlled by medication. Probably remiss of me that I haven't looked to see if the drops have any effect on this but I have been using them for years and my BP has been absolutely fine. If you aren't sure, ask the pharmacist.
