Hi, we found an elderly golden labrador wandering around the big Meadows Lake this morning. He has not been castrated, he has lots of white hair on his snout, he doesn't have a collar and he has a mole/lump under his eye. Would anyone be willing to offer a foster home until his owners are found ?

We will see if he has a chip this afternoon, anyone know who he may belong to ? Please call Dinah 056 105 7632 or Rachel 050 1569 680 Thank you

Is she old? It seems to be only geriatric canines on the loose at the moment!

Oh no :( I have spoken severely to our 4 legged girl and told her under no circumstances is she to join this epidemic of Happy Wanderers....just in case it's catching... Of course, she wouldn't, would she, it's only the collarless, no microchipped ones that go missing...

Why do people have pets if they arent going to look after them!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nyaaaargh, it infuriates me! Its not like its a surprise that they have to go to the vet for jabs etc which costs money!

Happy to report the dog has now been returned to his house. However, he was was not microchipped or castrated which according to the person I spoke to at the vets probably means he's never been vaccinated or had much experience of going to see a vet. He was an old dog, he limped, his teeth were falling out, he had sores and lumps and bumps all over and looked like he could do with some medical treatment. So not a totally happy ending unfortunately.

Which Meadows are you in? We used to see an elderly lab being walked by an Indian/Sri Lankan lady around the lake behind EIS. I'll ask DH tonight if he knows which house they live in.
