Hi ladies,
I've picked up some art I need framed. one is a simple box mount, for oil on canvas with no glass, but then I Have an oil on papyrus that is priceless (to me anyway) which i want suspended in glass, plexiglass with no border. As you would see old documents framed, if that makes sense. I'm worried to trust that one with just any frame shop. Can anyone recommend a place that has done something similar? Unfortunately I've not a lot of time to go running around different shops and ask, as my DH will be away all month and I'm running a one woman show getting ready for entertaining house guests next month. Thanks in advance and happy holidays x

I ended up going to Desert Frames yesterday as was running errands in Satwa. They did have a nice selection and Salih was very helpful. They actually do double glass frames with no border for papyrus/documents/newspapers & etc, but I was advised to go with a double glass + border frame instead due to difficulty in mounting & hanging. Price was what I expected, about 300 AED per frame and didn't cost more than the artwork itself which was a plus. I'll pick them up on Saturday and can't wait. Artemis, I looked at the website for Hamad Frames--that place looks really neat, hope to stop in there when I get out that way. Thanks for the tip :) By the way, how is your cat doing?? It's been a while since we had ours fixed and guess what--he is still a naughty and loud spaz lol. So much for that!

Desert Frames on Plant Street, Satwa are good. (Al Wasl road heading to the Creek, turn right straight after the Iranian Hospital. DF on right side near the top of the road)

Hey Beebers, Just caught this and I have had stuff framed by Hamad Frames in Karama. There is also a framing shop next to Park and Shop. I had a painting framed there. Both are good, the latter more expensive than Hamad Frames. Cheers,
