Hi all
Apart from Belgian Beer Cafe, does anyone know of a good place to eat moules/frites here in Dubai? - preferably from The Entertainer, but not essential. Also has anyone seen Belgian Beer Cafe in any other food discount schemes? - I know Time Out City Card has 20% discount, but any others? P.S. - saw in the brunch thread that Aquarium was mentioned, but not a very good review for the mussels....
Thanks in advance

Thanks - good to know that Warehouse has mussels too - will check beforehand though, that they have them. Leon closed down ages ago - found that out to my cost, when we drove all the way down there a few months ago...will check out Rostang tomorrow... edited by chizz on 09/05/2011

hi fairfield, i just read the thread and didnt read the posts - thats why i posted my comments, no offence intended re your post - just that i hadnt read it before i posted. i am sorry to hear about the bruncher sitting at your table - sorry but i have to say it has made me chuckle as i know from seeing some of the sights at some brunches - i can picture it in my minds eye !;) have a good day.

My post is based on my experience of being there twice and there being no mussels available and also on having a very drunk bruncher sit at our table with us and refuse to move while the staff were all too polite or embarrassed to make him move. Both of these things would make me ring first to see if there were mussels available and not go on a Friday night. Just my advice. I love Warehouse and the mussels they serve there, which is why I posted.

mussels at the warehouse are brilliant and they always have them on the menu, they serve many different flavours too such as the normal moules mariniere (how ever you spell it !) the thai green curry mussels are so so yummy. they do around 6 different flavours and they are very generous with their portions - they also come served with the most delicious chips big chunky ones served with mayo. the entertainer has 3 vouchers in the family book and the fine dining - so 6 in all. friday night is fine if you go after 7pm all the brunchers are gone by then.

I've had good Moules Frites at Warehouse in Garhoud, but they don't always do them. It's worth checking first if you are heading there especially and avoid Friday night - too many hammered brunchers! I'm pretty sure it's in the Entertainer. I'm definitely going to try Rostang! Thanks for the tip Hotpot.

Went to Belgium beer cafe in TECOM recently & enjoyed the overall experience but moules were overcooked. I make my own SO easy - get the big 2KG vacuum pack from Carrefour (they are ready cleaned and de-bearded), add some wine/beer/ apple juice plus some sweated onion and some herbs, into a huge pot and bring to simmer for short time until when you check the moules have opened. (sometimes I add lemongrass / spring onion, red chilli, ginger for a different type, also yum. Good luck

The french restaurant at atlantis do an eat all you want moules and frites on a tuesday night for about 185 aed inc booze or about 100 aed without, thinks its Rostang. Sadly I don't think BBC has vouchers in the Entertainer this year, good to know about facebook offers though. Rostang is in the entertainer, not sure if you can use it on the moules frites night though. I think they're far nicer than the BBC, and great value for money.
