In dubai who can collect Amniotic Fluid? My friend wants to Prenatal Paternity test.....is there any suggestions!! I know its easy through mouth swab but Amniotic fluid collection itself is risky process. I advised my friend to wait but her hubby is desperate to have the results.

Amniocentesis is done during14-24 weeks pregnancy. A needle is inserted through the abdomen into the uterus. CVS is done earlier(10-13th week). Chorion villi of the placenta are extracted through the vagina. Both procedures carry small risks. Amnio can cause cramping and CVS can cause spotting. Both procedures are usually performed for medical indications and can be done for prenatal paternity testing. Postnatal paternity testing is of course risk free, much simpler and cheaper. I agree with Nic_R that there can be no benefit to the mother for doing so. I do not think she can be forced to do so and doing so might just land her in hot water. There is no doctor-patient confidentiality here and adultery is a crime. I would opt for a postnatal DNA test in a Western country as well. She has her well-being to think about as well as that of the baby. I feel for your friend.

I'm not sure Dubai is the place that she should be admitting to a doctor that she does not know who the father of her baby is - could be a quick way to jail. Maybe she should look at flying to a Western country for the test.
