There's now a sectioned off swimming area. But many people use the beach for teaching as well as seasoned kiters. Although most do their best to steer well clear of swimmers and the beach, it can be difficult at times. Probably better off going to Jumeirah beach park.

I was there only one time about 2 years ago and spent the afternoon worrying about the kite surfers as some of them came in dangerously close. Not on purpose I would say - more a case of being blown off course or not being able to control the kite. Some of the swimmers looked close to getting landed on. This is the reason I have not been back since so don't know if it is still the same but I would say even if they have seperate sections for kiters and beach users there is always the danger of the unexpected gust / loss of control.
